Tuna, Red Onion & Prawn Pizza

I don’t think I know a single person that doesn’t enjoy a good Pizza. I personally find that take out Pizza’s always lack something.. whether they are laden with too much or too little cheap cheese, are too greasy, cold by the time they get to you etc etc the list could go on.

This homemade recipe is fantastic. I got the recipe off my mother in-law having tried and tested many homemade pizza’s before, this really is best I have ever tried!

Obviously once you have the base right any topping that takes your fancy can be used, I decided on this particular topping as my son loves Prawns and Tuna.

I usually make the base 30-60 minutes before I plan on cooking the the Pizza.

Ingredients for the base:

385g Plain flour
7g dried yeast
1/4 tsp baking powder
4 tablespoons Olive oil
250ml luke warm water

Method:

Mix the flour and dried yeast and baking powder together in a large bowl
Add the olive oil and water and mix using a hand held mixer, once a dough has formed knead for a couple of minutes with your hands. Then cover and set aside at room temperature for 30-60minutes.

Flour will have risen after the 30-60m Min’s

After allowing it to set, preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius knead the dough again once or twice and roll out onto a floured surface and then move onto a baking sheet

Roll out to about 40cm      

Here’s what I used for the topping:

2 heaped tablespoons of tomato puree
1 tablespoon of chopped tinned tomato’s
150g tinned tuna
1 red onion (thinly sliced)
250 peeled prawns
200g grated mozzarella
1 yellow bell pepper (thinly sliced)
1 teaspoon of dried oregano

To top the pizza start by spreading the tomato puree and tinned tomatoes evenly onto the base using the back of a large spoon or spatula, add the remaining ingredients and top with the grated cheese.

Carefully manoeuvre the pizza along with the baking sheet onto a baking tray and place in the middle shelf of the oven and cook for about 20-25 minutes (until the cheese has melted and turned a nice golden brown in colour)

Slice & Serve 🙂
